Eloquence of Quranic Text

Almost all sources clearly suggest that Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) till the age of 40 was an ordinary business man who was although known because of his piety, honesty and trustworthy qualities, wasn't a larger than life figure. Also, it is well known by vast majority of the resources that he was not literate in the wordly sense and couldn't read or write. The miracle of past prophet like Moses(peace be upon him) was of producing a serpant to tackle the norm of magic in his society. The miracle of Jesus (peace be upon him) was of healing people and tackling the disease of leporacy which was major issue among his people. Similarly, in the time of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him), Arabia was known to be on the verge of poetic excellence and eloquence and hence Quranic verses were revealed as the most important and lasting miracle of Prophet(peace be upon him) not only to tackle the norm of that society but also to remain guidance till the end of the world. The pagans of Makkah use to willingly cover their ears to avoid hearing the beautiful poetry of Quran since many of them were attracted to Islam simply by hearing the truth and excellence of those verses. Those word at the height of eloquence and comprehensiveness can hardly be expected from a non-literate person who lived among the same people for his entire past life of 40 years. This blazing poetry of Quran coming from a person with no educational background was a miracle itself. The Quranic verses in addition to that, comprised of a deep and lasting message for the humanity and hence the people started to gather around Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) despite of all opposition, resistance and oppression offered by the hands of Quraish to the followers of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him). The Prophet's(peace be upon him) life itself was a living Quran and hence in various parts of his life, Quranic verses were revealed that were not only focused on the current affairs but also comprised of a greater message for the rest of the humanity to follow. Quran has given an outline of how to act within the permissible boundaries of Quran and Sunnah and Prophet(peace be upon him) has lived solely on that principal to prove the point that it is humanely possible to achieve the excellence sought by Allah(SWT). We Muslims believe that there were two kinds of divine revelations to Prophet:
1. Quranic revelations: that were revealed throught archangel Gabariel and are preserved till today precisely in the form that they were revealed.
2. Prophetic revelations: that was the direct communication of Prophet(peace be upon him) with Allah(SWT) either through archangel Gibarel or as a vision in his dreams.

The 2nd type of revelation describes the following verse of Quran:

"Nor does he (Muhammad) speak of his own desire. It is but an Inspiration that is inspired [unto him]" (The noble Qur'an, Al-Najm(53):3-4)

The Quranic revelation comprises of a combination of precise divine commands, lessons from the deeds of past nations and a set of general guidelines that are to be followed inorder to be successful in the hereafter. Prophet not only preached his followers the dos and don'ts of Islam but also fully implemented those commands in the society and lived his own live precisely according to the Quranic morality, justice and equality.
